Food & Drink

Telefèric Barcelona captures the art of culinary escapism with real-deal tapas, indoor-outdoor dining and an international market. The memo: Slow down and enjoy the sangria.

September 22, 2026

Small plates, cold sangria, and an unhurried pace. In Bar - celona, life revolves around social dining and lingering with friends on a sun dappled terrace long after the last paella bite. Now, Telefèric Barcelona brings that Spanish spirit to Newport Beach with its exclusive Orange County location.

The multi-generational destination is operated by siblings Xavi and Maria Padrosa, whose mother opened the original location in Barcelona three decades ago. Bringing that heritage to Southern California, the space features a lively indoor-outdoor design centered around an open-air patio.

Teleferic Paellas

Sharing is caring when it comes to the menu; there’s acorn-fed Jamón Ibérico, lovely little croquetas, charred octopus, and mini churros. The stars of the show: cooked-toorder paellas served family-style in traditional steel paelleras.

To drink, the bar pairs a solid wine list and traditional sangri - as with a playful cocktail program. Highlights include Span - ish old fashioneds, smoked mezcal drinks, and the Ibiza Gin & Tonic—a theatrical, glitter-swirled cocktail infused with butterfly pea flower that turns vibrant purple when poured tableside. Don’t leave without some Spanish goodies from El Merkat, a boutique market stocked with cured Jamón Ibérico de Bellota, artisan cheeses, house olive oils, to-go sangrias, and complete DIY paella kits.
