Neiman Marcus – Bloomingdale’s Courtyard
Nowhere does the allure of California Riviera feel more palpable than this courtyard. Framed by stately Canary palm trees, the expansive palazzo unfolds like a Newport Beach postcard: sun-drenched, sophisticated, and cinematic. Afterall, this space plays host to glamorous events—StyleWeekOC and Newport Beach Film Fest—while serving as the main stage for weekly live happenings. Most enduring? The annual Christmas tree lighting, revealing the modern spirit of tradition with nightly choreographed light shows. And snow!
Did You Know?
When it was first established in 1973, the courtyard was named for the butterfly statues that stood in front of The Broadway (now Bloomingdale’s).
The courtyard has evolved into a vibrant community gathering space with over 200 events held here each year—from StyleWeekOC® and new pop-ups to concerts and group fitness.
Since 1967, Fashion Island has been setting the holiday stage for generations of families and patrons lured by the spirit of the season. Each year, we handpick our 90-foot tree from Mt. Shasta, California, which is then placed in this courtyard. Our tree lighting event has become a cherished holiday tradition and festive ritual for all ages.
